The Public Humanities Initiative, and its flagship "What Is A Public Intellectual Today?" speaker series, invite you to a public interview with acclaimed author and professor Cathy Park Hong. Hong is the author of three collections of poetry, the first of which, Dance Dance Revolution, was selected for the Barnard Women Poets Prize by Adrienne Rich. Her book of essays Minor Feelings, which Jia Tolentino called "crafted with stinging care", was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Hong teaches at the University of California, Berkeley and serves as the poetry editor for New Republic. 

In this candid public interview, Hong and Stanford Creative Writing lecturer Hieu Minh Nguyen will discuss elements of literary craft, how to build a career as a public intellectual, and the path to publishing.
