Sponsored by

This event is over.

Event Details:

Join author Simone Stolzoff (MA '18) in a conversation with Bill Burnett about how work has become so central to Americans' identities and what we can do to separate our self-worth from our output. You'll learn actionable ways in which you can diversify your identity beyond what you study and plan to do for work. We will also be celebrating the release of Simone's new book, The Good Enough Job: Reclaiming Life from Work (Portfolio), which comes out the day prior.

Simone Stolzoff is an independent journalist and consultant from San Francisco. His feature writing on the intersection of labor and Silicon Valley has appeared in The Atlantic, WIRED, The San Francisco Chronicle, and numerous other publications.

Bill Burnett is Executive Director of the Design Program at Stanford and coauthor of Designing Your New Work Life: How to Thrive and Change and Find Happiness – and a New Freedom – at Work.

This event is co-sponsored by Stanford Career Education and Stanford Public Humanities.
