Event Details:

Public screening with documentary filmmaker and author Bill Carter.

Mr. Carter will also discuss and sign copies of his book "Fools Rush In" (2005), a memoir of the siege of Sarajevo.

"Miss Sarajevo" is a documentary about a beauty pageant held in war-torn Yugoslavia. Carter traveled to Sarajevo in the winter of 1993 to offer humanitarian aid and quickly found himself in the heart of the conflict. Winner of the International Monitor Award, Golden Hugo, and the Maverick Director Award (Newport Beach Film Festival). U2's singer Bono serves as executive producer and U2, along with Luciano Pavorotti, sing the theme song, "Miss Sarajevo." Carter and Bono met in Italy at a U2 concert during the war when Carter managed to interview Bono for Sarajevo television. They went on to do the well-documented satellite connections on the European leg of the Zooropa tour.
