Was Jesus A Liberal? A Secular Conversation

In his new book, Jesus Was a Liberal: Reclaiming Christianity for All (Macmillan, 2009), the Rev. Scotty McLennan presents a bold call to people who identify themselves as liberal Christians to reclaim ownership of Christianity. The book advocates a sense of religion based not on doctrinal readings of scripture, but on the humanity behind Christ's teachings. It addresses such topics as intelligent design, abortion, same sex marriage, war, and torture. Please join us for a secular humanist dialogue between the Rev. McLennan and two Stanford political liberals.

Commentators: Rob Reich (Political Science and Director of the Program in Ethics in Society) and Debra Satz (Philosophy and Director of the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society).
