Rennie Harris in Conversation: The Aurora Forum at Stanford

Choreographer and dancer Rennie Harris was a pioneer in introducing hip-hop to the national and international stage. Central to Harris’s work is the philosophy that, contrary to stereotypical (and often negative) portrayals of hip-hop in the commercial media, the art form has a unique ability to express universal themes that extend beyond racial, religious, and economic boundaries.

About the Aurora Forum:

For the second year, the Aurora Forum and Lively Arts partner to present a series of conversations curated by the Forum’s founding director, Mark Gonnerman. This season, the series brings visionary artists into conversation with campus scholars and thinkers outside the arts to explore creative ways of addressing the civic, social and environmental concerns of our day.
