Dave Evans is co-founder of the Stanford Life Design Lab at the univesity's renowned d.school, where he and co-instructor Bill Burnett help people design their lives. For Evans, a lecturer in mechanical engineering at Stanford, that continues to be his life's work — and served as the basis for the 2016 New York Times bestseller "Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life," which he wrote with Burnett.

Evans' industry experience in design includes working at Apple, where he led the mouse team and introduced laser printing to the masses. When his boss at Apple left to start Electronic Arts, Evans joined as the company's first vice president of talent, dedicated to making "software worthy of the minds that use it."

Having participated in forming the corporate cultures at Apple and EA, Evans decided his best work was in helping organizations build creative environments where people could do great work and love doing it. He went out on his own working with startup teams, large corporate executives, nonprofit leaders, and countless young adults.

The DFJ Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders Seminar series is generously supported by the venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
