Bob Gordon's Taming the Past: Essays on Law in History and History in Law was recently published by the Studies in Legal History Series at Cambridge University Press. This conference will celebrate this scholarly milestone as well as its greatly admired author. A collection of essays concerning how lawyers use history written over the course of the last four decades, this book embodies Gordon's preeminent position as a scholar of the legal profession and of American legal history more generally.
