PhD Pathways is a day-long Career Education Conference open to PhD students and Postdocs from all disciplines to inform and educate you about what types of career paths exist beyond academia with a PhD degree. Registration requires a $50 refundable deposit. The deposit will be refunded after the conference. The conference includes: - A keynote address by Dr. Tina Seelig, Stanford Professor of Management Science & Engineering, and best-selling author of "Creativity Rules," and "What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20." - 16 panels in four session blocks, with each panel composed of PhD-holding panelists representing various disciplines of origin working in a specific career sector - Four career workshops - Career coaching by Stanford career coaches - A networking lunch - An end-of-day reception After attending the conference, you will have: - Clear examples of PhD-level careers in a variety of sectors outside academia - Learned what skills are important in these sectors - Heard personal stories of how professionals have gained entry into these sectors - Made connections with professionals working in these sectors. - Connected with fellow students and postdocs who are also exploring careers beyond academia.
