The Stanford LASERs are sponsored by the Stanford Deans of Research; Engineering; Humanities & Sciences; Medicine; and Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences; Continuing Studies; and the Office of Science Outreach.

The LASERs are a national program of evening gatherings that bring artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversation with an audience. This event will present four artists, scientists, thinkers, inventors, and scholars who are working on paradigm shifts. The schedule also allows time for the audience to socialize and encourages people in the audience to briefly introduce their own work. Chaired by Piero Scaruffi.

*Andrey Kurenkov (Stanford Computational Vision Lab) on "How Impressive are Recent  A.I. Accomplishments, Really?"

*Li Jiang (Director, Stanford University AI) on "AI, Robotics and Future Education”

*Stephanie Brown (Adjunct Professor, University of San Francisco, Museum Studies) on “Authenticity, Apples and the Art Market: The Mystery of 1939/34.3”

*David Stork (Fellow, Rambus Labs) on “The Scourge of Fake Art”
