In celebration of Green Library’s 100th Anniversary, we are bringing out some of Special Collections' valued treasures. Don’t miss the opportunity to see John Steinbeck's Nobel Prize medal, a 15th-century manuscript, Buckminster Fuller models, Stanford's original Founding Grant, and so much more.

In addition to our Open House, a special unveiling will take place of the sculpture Buchstela by artist Ivon Illmer.

Green Libraray: Beyond100
Jane Stanford’s grand and visionary plan in the early 1900s to expand the footprint of the university’s library was based on her determination that the university bearing her son’s name not only serve the intellectual pursuits of its current faculty and students but also that it prepare itself to attract and serve a larger future community with more diverse academic interests. Anticipating the needs of tomorrow’s scholars is at the core of how Stanford Libraries collects and develops digital research tools and services. Beyond100 is a theme that celebrates 100 years of looking forward and the Libraries’ position as a launchpad to spark curiosityelevate knowledge and transform scholarship.
